Questions
people actually ask
If yours is not here, the free 10-minute call is a fine place to ask it. So is the form at the bottom of this page.
- What areas do you cover?
Serving Providence, Cranston, Pawtucket, the East Side, and Greater Providence. If you are just outside that and think it might still work, ask me on the call rather than assuming it is a no.
- What actually happens on the free 10-minute call?
I ask what you have tried, what got in the way, and what you want to be able to do. You ask me anything you like. At the end I tell you honestly whether I think I can help, and if the answer is no I will usually know who can. There is no pitch and nothing to prepare.
- Do I need equipment or space at home?
No equipment. I bring what we need. For space, about a yoga mat of clear floor is genuinely enough. If your living room is tight, that is a normal starting point and not a problem to solve before you call.
- What does it cost?
Coaching is sold in six-week blocks rather than single sessions, because six weeks is the shortest honest window for judging whether something is working. The exact figure depends on how often we meet and whether it is in-home or virtual, so I quote it on the call once I know which. I will not put you on a plan that renews forever without a conversation.
- I have had an injury or surgery. Can you work with me?
Often, yes, and it is a common reason people call. The important boundary: I am a certified personal trainer with a degree in Exercise Physiology, not a physical therapist. I work alongside a physical therapist, never instead of one. If you have an active plan of care, I will work inside it and talk to your PT where that helps. If you are still in treatment and not cleared for training, I will tell you that on the call rather than take you on.
- Do you work with older or homebound clients?
Yes, and increasingly it is the work I find most worthwhile. Often the person who calls me is an adult son or daughter rather than the person I will be training. Sessions happen in the home, at whatever level is right that day, with the same coach every visit so trust has a chance to build.
- What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens and I would rather you moved a session than skipped a week. Give me reasonable notice and we reschedule.
Not final: Exact notice window to confirm with Shane before launch.
- How long until I see a change?
Sooner than you would think for the things that are about consistency, and slower than the internet promises for everything else. What I can tell you is what six weeks buys: either a system that runs without me, or certainty that this is not the problem. Both of those are worth more than another year of guessing.
Still deciding?
Pick whichever is easier. Both reach me directly.
